Advantages of Offshore Container

Durability and security
These accommodations are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of the offshore environments. These corrosion-resistant offshore containers’ robust steel offers exceptional structural integrity and resistance to extreme weather conditions, such as saltwater exposure and high winds.

Customization and versatility
These containers offer customizable options for housing remote workforces. You can configure these modular units to create living spaces, common areas, and offices. The container’s agility offers customized outlets and amenities to fulfill specific needs.

Mobility and scalability
They offer remarkable mobility, enabling quick deployment and relocation to different areas as needed. The mobility and scalability help companies to adapt to the fluctuating demands and optimize resource allocation.

Environmental sustainability
These sustainable logistics innovations contribute to sustainable offshore operations. They have an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient insulation. This helps reduce energy consumption, decrease environmental impacts, and minimize carbon emissions.

Cost-efficiency
They are the best substitutes for conventional accommodation solutions. The modular design of these containers optimizes the space, decreases maintenance and construction costs. Therefore, they also reduce the need for full-fledged on-site construction.

Different Materials for Offshore Container

Corten Steel (Weathering Steel)

Corten steel serves as the main material in most shipping containers. This high-strength, low-alloy steel eliminates the need for painting by forming a stable, protective oxide layer when exposed to the elements.

Aluminum (Selective Use)

Some specialty containers use aluminum instead of steel. Aluminum weighs less and naturally resists rust, but it lacks the strength of steel and often costs more. For this reason, manufacturers use it for air freight or other light-duty purposes.

Floor Construction

Builders install marine-grade plywood, typically 1-1/8 inches thick, over steel crossbeams. This combination creates a durable, moisture-resistant base that supports heavy cargo. The waterproof adhesive and dense hardwood veneers in marine plywood make it ideal for long-term outdoor use.

Corrugated panels

The sidewalls, roof, and doors consist of corrugated steel panels. Corrugation strengthens the structure and distributes loads evenly, helping the container endure impacts and pressure.

Square tubing and I-beams

These elements form the container’s frame. They keep the unit stable and prevent distortion during handling and stacking.

Corner castings

Each corner contains cast steel fittings that allow safe lifting, secure stacking, and easy transport. These castings meet ISO standards, ensuring global compatibility.

Offshore Container Manufacturing Process

Fabrication
Shipping containers start with the construction of wall panels, whether using steel, aluminium or another material.

Tubular steel frame welding
The next step is to create the structural frame by welding a floor frame to support the cargo weight.

Door assembly
The doors are then added to the container, with corner posts aligned and all parts welded together to ensure strength and water resistance.

Priming and painting
Once the shell of the container is put together, it is primed and painted for optimal protection against harsh environmental conditions.

Flooring
When the paint has dried, wooden flooring is fitted on top of the steel floor frame and treated for durability and longevity.

Decals and identification
Once the main construction has been completed, the containers are branded with company decals and essential identification marks.

Testing
The last step in the manufacturing of a shipping container is testing. In this stage, the underside is sprayed with a waterproof sealant and the container undergoes load testing to ensure it meets weight capacity standards and is weather-resilient.
